Egyptian legend Hossam Hassan has beaten Al Ahly manager Pitso Mosimane after a 4-0 loss to the defending league champions.
Hassan, currently an assistant coach at Al Ittihad, believes Al Ahly are backing down with Pitso Mosimane despite losing points just once.
Mosimane has led Al Ahly to a near perfect record since taking over with the CAF Champions League winners winning 13 of 14 matches, while the remaining match ended in a draw.
Hassan hits Pitso Mosimane
“If Haris, the man from Al Ahly’s team, took over Al Ahly, he will win trophies,” Hassan was quoted as saying by KingFut.
“If we [Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan] took over from Al Ahly let’s win trophies. If Pitso managed any other team in the league, he will be fired after two games.
“Al Ahly were not good against us in the Egyptian Cup or in their last matches or in the CAF Champions League.”
Al Ahly have lifted the Egyptian Premier League, Egyptian Cup and CAF Champions League with Pitso Mosimane, yet Hassan believes Mosimane is a below-average manager who will not be successful in another Egyptian team.
Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly edged out Hassan’s Al Ittihad on Monday to further extend their lead in the Egyptian Premier League standings. Al Ahly sits one point from El Gouna with a game in hand after his perfect start to the new season.
