The Red Berets said that the parties had agreed that:
- Clicks would withdraw all TRESemmé products from all of its stores and replace them with locally produced products;
- Clicks would donate a minimum of 50,000 sanitary pads, 50,000 disinfectants and masks to rural and informal settlements identified by the EFF;
- Clicks would award scholarships to five students to carry out pharmaceutical studies in the next academic year; all five students must be black, rural, African women and orphaned by HIV / AIDS; and
- EFF, in turn, would work with law enforcement agencies to ensure that the provocateurs involved in the Clicks store vandalism were brought to the reserve.
“In light of the above, the EFF and Clicks have set aside the issue at hand,” the party said. “The EFF cancels the protest action in all Clicks stores with immediate effect. Clicks can now resume normal operations. “
The EFF had held a meeting on Thursday with Unilever, the company that supplies TRESemmé products in SA. They agreed on a number of issues, including that Unilever would remove TRESemmé products from all stores for 10 days.
They also agreed that the company would donate 10,000 sanitary pads and disinfectants to informal settlements identified by the EFF.
