The 41-year-old was arrested Thursday in a joint operation by the National Office for Illegal Firearms Control and the Directorate for Priority Investigation of Crime (DPCI, or Hawks) in Cape Town, along with Durban police. .

The man faces several charges, including murder, attempted murder, fraud, as well as violation of the Firearms Control Act.

“An additional forensic examination allegedly linked some of the firearms to criminal activities ranging from murder to attempted murder,” Hani said.

The man was expected to appear in Worcester Magistrates Court on Monday.
