CAPE TOWN – The Pretoria High Court dismissed former South African Airways (SAA) Chairman Dudu Myeni’s request for permission to appeal.

Earlier this year, Myeni was declared a delinquent director by the court and banned for life from serving as a director of any entity.

Myeni received another blow as the court also dismissed her attempt to present new evidence in the case.

The court has ordered him to pay the legal costs.

The Undoing Tax Abuse Organization (Outa) took legal action against him in 2018, saying that he had brought the airline to the brink of collapse.

Wayne Duvenage from Outa: “I think it is important for South Africa to see that the rule of law works and that people are held accountable for their conduct, as we know SAA is in dire straits and to a large extent a lot of that is it was due to the role Dudu Myeni played during her tenure as president. “
