Duchess Meghan has likened breastfeeding to “running a marathon.”
The Duchess of Sussex, who has a 17-month-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, with her husband, Prince Harry, admits she found it difficult to balance her royal engagements and her baby.
She said, “Breastfeeding is like running a marathon, so between each official engagement I was running to make sure our son was fed, and it was a lot.”
In a famous interview last year, the actress was asked if she was okay, to which she replied that she was not, but that she was “in a vulnerable moment” at the time.
Speaking on a new podcast, she added why she said it wasn’t okay: “I only answered honestly, because I was in a vulnerable moment because I was tired, there was no presentation, it was just ‘This is where I am, I’m a mom with a four and a half month old baby and we’re tired. ‘
Meghan previously revealed that she “meditates” to deal with internet trolls.
The Duchess of Sussex said: “They told me that in 2019 I was the most trolled person in the whole world, male or female. Now for eight months of that. It wasn’t even visible. I was on maternity leave or with the baby, but what could be manufactured and produced is almost insurmountable …
“I don’t care if you’re 15 or 25, if people say things about you that aren’t true, what that does to your mental and emotional health is detrimental. Meditation is key. I never thought I’d be the person to do that. Writing in a journal is very powerful. It allows me to reflect on where I come from. “
