Download and read books on Amazon without a Kindle device
With most of us currently confined to our homes during closing, some not going to work and some not even working from home, we have now become the true epitome of doing nothing.
Readers have turned to the books, by J R. R. Tolkien, George R. R. Martin, Terry Pratchett, Dean Koontz, Jackie Collins, whatever. Some have even retired those old days, typical Harlequin, Mills and Boon, Silhouette, billionaire / virgin romances, hey there’s no trial here!
However, it is difficult to buy more books right now as the bookstores are closed too, that sucks! And hoping that a book you want to read as soon as yesterday is delivered is also bullshit.
We have probably already read all the books on our shelves at home, even those old hardcover books with yellowed pages from old.
We have been through all of them.
Most experienced readers will tell you that there is nothing like the real thing, nothing like the smell of pages while holding a book, nothing like feeling the hard cover of a book in your hands and getting lost inside.
Technologically savvy readers have turned to e-reading, which means reading books on our Nook or Kindle devices or even on our tabs or computers and phones. Our favorite books will be in electronic copy format, same story, same ending, same cover, only in electronic copy format.
The eBook format even mimics that of a real book, from the page layout, structure, color, lighting, and some come with audio options, so you can hear the story, in case you’re tired of hold your device and just want to tell good old stories.
Amazon’s Kindle devices are quite popular with e-readers, who can purchase books of their choice and automatically send them to their device via wireless means.
A purchase (one click on a book on Amazon) takes less than a minute to deliver to your device and be ready to read.
However, not everyone has a Kindle or Nook device, and some of the devices break without hope of repair during the crash.
Don’t worry, you can still buy and read Amazon books without a Kindle device and it’s a breeze.
Amazon itself offers its users that option, making it totally legal.
You must first register / sign up for an Amazon account by going to Amazon
Signing up is free, you just need a login email account.
Amazon will give you options when you create and create an account, including username, email, and password.
Once you have completed this, Amazon will send a setup message to your signature email account.
Go to your email account and check your inbox for an Amazon email, it will give you instructions on how to set up your account.
After this, you now have an Amazon account.
If you already have an Amazon account, you don’t need to create one or register, just log in.
Now to download your Kindle app. Hit the Amazon search bar and type, Download Kindle.
Amazon will give you several options including Kindle for PC, Kindle for Android, Kindle for Windows, Kindle for Mac Book.
You can select the Kindle application option compatible with your device, you can also limit your search to the one that suits your software or operating device.
Alternatively, you can go to the Google Play Store and download your Kindle app from there, it is also safe and up to date with the latest versions.
After download, it will install the app. It takes less than 2 minutes and that’s it.
You can link your Amazon account to your Kindle simply by going to Kindle Settings and signing up using your Amazon username and password.
You can search for your favorite author on Amazon by entering their name in the search bar and all their books will appear.
Just click on the book you want and buy the Kindle version and you’ll get automatic delivery.
Based on your book choices, Kindle will also suggest books and authors for you, and you can easily access and purchase books on Amazon through its Kindle app.
Kindle also offers examples of books, to read some chapters first, just to get a feel for the book before you buy it, and if you’re lucky some days there are freebies and price reductions on books.
Also note that you can download the Kindle app on as many devices as you like. If you buy a book, it will appear on all devices, be it phone, tap, MacBook, laptop.
