Durban – The president of the ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) and former Minister of Social Development, Bathabile Dlamini, has harshly criticized the Minister of Public Enterprises, Pravin Gordhan, calling him a rumor-monger.
In a tweet Tuesday afternoon, Dlamini, who was in conflict with Gordhan while they were in the Zuma government, also called the minister a “jerk.”
This followed Gordhan’s admission to the state apprehension commission on Monday, during cross-examination of attorney Dali Mpofu on behalf of former SARS commissioner Tom Moyane, that he had no evidence to support state apprehension claims against some of the people. whom he has accused.
Dlamini tweeted in response to a Twitter user who took a screenshot of Gordhan from Newzroom Afrika and asked people to use one word to describe him. Dlamini jumped on the bandwagon and tweeted: “How can the whole country with such mature veterans and fighters, revolutionaries be drowned in the mud by such an idiot (sic) rumor monger? The clique is exposed again and has armed the entire justice and security apparatus to erase South Africa’s history. “

Hours earlier, he tweeted that former ANC president Oliver Tambo, who led the party while operating in exile, warned members about Gordhan’s conduct.
This was in response to a Twitter user who said that while he felt Gordhan was “arrogant”, he would never support Moyane even if he had a spiked drink. Another Twitter user responded by saying “Your problem is that you support people. Supporting data “.
Dlamini sided with the user who said people should back up the facts and then made references to Gordhan.
“Our problem is that we carry hatred in our hearts and we hate other people based on how the media portrays them. I am saddened by a man who has destroyed the country through rumors. I’m sure half the population has seen through it. President OR (Tambo) saw this man a long time ago, ”he tweeted.
Gordhan and his department have yet to respond to questions from Independent Media about Dlamini’s tweets.
Meanwhile, the EFF, which has clashed with Gordhan for the past few years, demanded that President Cyril Ramaphosa fire him. The party also said it would ask the parliament’s ethics committee to criticize it.
“His actions represent a violation of our democracy, by a thug who manipulates the resources of the state to serve his personal interests. Furthermore, the EFF will report Gordhan to the parliamentary ethics committee for lying to parliament about meeting with the Guptas, essentially breaking his oath of office. Gordhan’s continued presence in the country’s executive represents a rot in the country’s highest offices that must be removed.
