- On Monday, DJ Fresh and Euphonik issued a statement saying they would no longer face sexual assault allegations after the NPA refused to prosecute.
- A woman alleged that she was assaulted by both men on the same night.
- Primedia took the two off the air while the matter was being investigated and released them from their contracts.
There was insufficient evidence to process a sexual assault complaint against DJ Fresh and Euphonik, according to the National Tax Authority (NPA).
DJ Fresh, whose real name is Thato Sikwane, and Euphonik, whose real name is Themba Nkosi, released a statement on Monday saying they would no longer face sexual assault allegations after the NPA refused to pursue the allegation. .
NPA Gauteng spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said: “With regard to the DJ Fresh and Euphonik matter, the file was indeed submitted to the prosecutor. After examining all the evidence available in the file, a decision was made not to prosecute. There is no prospects for a successful prosecution on the basis of the available evidence because the evidence is insufficient. “
After a woman alleged that she was assaulted by both men on the same night in Pretoria, Primedia Broadcasting took them off the air.
They were later released from their contracts after meeting with management.

In a tweet Monday, Sikwane said: “… the attorney general has dismissed the charges on the grounds that the charges are unfounded. The file has been marked as nolle prosequi (unwilling to proceed).
“As we have said before, these are false accusations and we are deeply saddened that gender-based violence, a serious crisis in South Africa, has been used as a weapon in this way.
“A big thank you to all of our family, friends, supporters, and our legal team.”
