Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, popularly known as DJ Black Coffee, finally talks about life without Enhle Mbali and his family. DJ Black Coffee was embroiled in a nasty divorce with his wife Enhle Mbali in 2011. Since the divorce, Black Coffee has always been silent and focused on his work and touring. Finally, DJ Black Coffee goes ahead and was open about his divorce.
However, the award-winning DJ has had time to reflect on the Covid-19 pandemic that has literally forced everyone to isolate themselves at home. This meant that DJ Black Coffee had plenty of free time and could not be more grateful than spending time at home with his family.
Although he had to suspend his 2020 plans in terms of his DJ brand, Coffee revealed that he was using this closing period to focus on the healing process after a difficult divorce from ex-wife Enhle Mbali, and on being a father to his children
During a live Instagram Q&A with Scoop Makhathini, Coffee explained how the Covid-19 outbreak has been devastating, and despite the fact that it has been lifted R100k for Covid-19 victims, he had to put his tours and concerts on hold. He was, however, grateful for the abrupt rest.
“Last year, I was going through a divorce and I had to wake up and leave and not deal with me. I couldn’t sit down and see what my contribution to my loss was.
“It is truly a blessing to be home and realize what I went through last year, I know I am a winner and I am using this time to work with me.”
Black Coffee explained that he would generally be quite busy during this time of year, but due to the coronavirus, he has been at home isolating himself with his son.
“I am in quarantine with my son. It’s a blessing that I spend time with him and now everything is real.
“Like, someone needs to do the dishes, someone has to take care of the dog. We are not used to washing our cars and we had to do it yesterday. I had to teach him how to wash a car. It was like Mister Miyagi telling my son to turn on and off …
The renowned DJ explained that he was spending time to be the father of his son and that he loved to see himself as a father, which he never gets to do with his demanding life as a DJ.
