Prince William’s lack of commitment to a long-term relationship with Kate Middleton caused the two to end their relationship and part ways on a heartbreaking note.
The couple, now married with three children, separated in a shocking move and that too over the phone.
This happened when they were dating during college, in 2007, and circumstances led the two to end their relationship.
However, William became so jealous seeing Kate enjoying her life after the breakup, that he was back with her six months after their separation.
According to online magazine Japan FM, Royal author Andrew Morton said: “In April, to Kate’s great anguish, William ended their relationship. It was a storm that had been brewing for a long time, a result of his reluctance to commit and the feeling that his friends noticed that I could do better. “
A close friend of the couple told the royal author that William became jealous seeing Kate leave their relationship very quickly and later regretted his decision to separate.
The friend said, “He thought he could do better, but quickly realized what he had given up.”
“William has seen pictures of Kate leaving Boujis or any other place in the world without worry. Frankly, he did not like the idea of another boy enjoying a roll of hay with his girl,” they added.
The source reportedly shared that the breakup ultimately caused Prince William to secure the relationship that his parents had been unable to share.
“After the breakup, he achieved what he really wanted in life. A child from a broken house finds love, affection and warmth and a stable family,” said the friend.
