CRISTIANO RONALDO’s best teammates have been revealed with only THREE Manchester United stars making the cut.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has established his reputation for being a man who can do it alone, but even the Portuguese occasionally has to count on the support, especially from his regular colleagues.
From the early days at Sporting Lisbon and Old Trafford to a decade of dominance at Real Madrid before joining Juventus, CR7 has played with the best.
But the Mirror has found that the players who have lined up the most alongside the 35-year-olds, not a general roster of the most talented players.
John O’Shea has also made more appearances for Ronaldo than some of the attackers on the team, but he cannot get into this XI.
Here is the last XI of Cristiano Ronaldo …
Iker Casillas
The winner of the World Cup in Spain has made 228 appearances alongside Ronaldo during the couple’s time in Madrid while taking a Champions League and a LaLiga title together.
Edwin van der Sar, who was behind the batons for much of the Portugal captain’s time at United, is next with 167 games with the striker.
Sergio Ramos
Although he has since become one of the best central defenders in the world, the Madrid boss made his way on the right side of defense in his youth.
Ramos’ 339 appearances with Ronaldo are enough to justify him exceeding Álvaro Arbeloa’s 201 games.
Pepe
The appearances of the former Madrid player with Ronaldo have increased by playing alongside him both at the club level and in the Portuguese national team.
Pepe has lined up alongside his compatriot 321 times on the way to victory at Euro 2016, and relegates his former teammate Raphael Varane’s 199 score.
Rio Fernando
The England legend made his switch to Old Trafford a year before Ronaldo and his leadership qualities during their 221 games together would have been instrumental in CR7’s rise to the top.
Ferdinand in particular once revealed that the United team used to try to liquidate the Juve superstar by mentioning long-term rival Lionel Messi.
Marcelo
Only two players on the team have gone into battle with Ronaldo more than the Brazilian left-back, who can boast a staggering 332 appearances with the striker.
Cristiano was reportedly so fanatical about his chemistry that he urged Maurizio Sarri to bring his former teammate from Madrid to Turin this summer.
Isco
Perhaps the most surprising name on the team, the diminutive Spaniard appeared in 188 games with Ronaldo during their five years at the Bernabéu together.
That earns him a place over Paul Scholes (183) and Sami Khedira (173).
Xabi Alonso
Alonso, a former pillar in Liverpool’s midfield in his battles against Ronaldo’s United, Alonso joined Madrid in the same summer of 2009 as his rival Prem.
The World Cup winner then made 208 appearances for the Portuguese in which he claimed European and national glory.
Luka modric
The Croatian has the prestigious title of midfielder with the most appearances alongside Ronaldo in 222 games.
Incidentally, Modric was also the first player to break his former teammate Ballon d’Or’s duopoly with Messi with his victory in January 2019.
Ryan Giggs
The Welsh wizard appeared alongside Ronaldo 204 times during their six years together at Old Trafford in which they lifted three consecutive Premier League titles between 2006 and 2009.
Unfortunately for Cristiano, Nicky Butt has defeated him to a place in Giggs’ most regular teammates!
Wayne Rooney
The former England captain takes the last of United’s three participants into Ronaldo’s best teammates after 206 games together.
Former Madrid and Juventus leader Gonzalo Higuain is heating up the bench with his 172 appearances.
Karim Benzema
No footballer has played more games alongside Ronaldo than the Frenchman, who can boast 342 games in their nine years together after joining in the same summer.
Benzema admitted last year that he used to do all the hard work of the Portuguese without a ball and has since blossomed in front of goal himself in his absence.
