PRETORIA – Vice President David Mabuza spoke out on Sunday against corruption in the country.

Mabuza used the South African Police Service (SAPS) national commemoration day in Pretoria to speak about the damaging effects of corruption in the country.

The vice president said corruption is eroding South Africa’s image as allegations of corruption continue to rise across the country.

Mabuza took a position by calling for the scourge to be eradicated in society.

“Together let us work in unison to eliminate crime and corruption. Crime erodes the image of our country and affects everything that is worth seeing our country as a destination of choice for tourism and investment ”, he said.

Mabuza’s comments came days after the ANC asked its members criminally accused of corruption to stand aside from their official positions until those matters were finalized.
