COVID-19: SA reports 24 deaths, 1,622 new infections

JOHANNESBURG – The health department reported 1,622 new cases of COVID-19 in South Africa in the last 24 hours.

This brings the total number of cases to 715,868.

An additional 24 deaths from COVID-19 have been recorded, although only 5 of them occurred in the past 48 hours.

The death toll from COVID-19 in South Africa has risen to 18,968.

Recoveries currently stand at 646,170, which translates into a recovery rate of 90.3%.
