JOHANNESBURG – The Department of Health has reported 13 new COVID-19-related deaths in South Africa, bringing the death toll to 15,953.
Most of the deaths in the past 24 hours come from the Western Cape, with the province reporting 6 deaths.
The Eastern Cape (3), KwaZulu-Natal (1), Gauteng (3) also reported new deaths.
The country has registered 1,555 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 661,211.

More than 590 071 people have recovered from the coronavirus.
South Africa’s COVID-19 recovery rate is 89.2 percent.
The cumulative number of tests carried out to date is 4,041,543 with 16,884 new tests carried out since the last report.
