- A 40-year-old man and his wife were found dead in the woman’s home in the Eastern Cape.
- Both had gunshot wounds to the upper body, police say.
- The couple was last seen alive on Friday.
Eastern Cape Police are investigating after a couple was found murdered in Mooiplaas Village, on the outskirts of East London.
According to police, it is alleged that the 40-year-old husband went to his wife’s home in the town of Bola on Friday.
“The wife and her family were preparing to bury their mother,” police spokesman Capt. Jackson Manatha said Monday.
He said the man went looking for his wife during the night.

The wife’s sister later became concerned and concerned when the couple did not return.
Manatha said he then went to his farm on Saturday morning.
After calling for some time and no one answered, he called the neighbors who forced the door open.

“The bodies of both the husband and his wife were found with gunshot wounds to the upper body,” Manatha said.
“The firearm was also found not far from the bodies of the deceased.”
The husband was identified as Sithobile Velebhayi, 40, and the wife was identified as Nolukholo Velebhayi, also 40.
