NEW CITY, Cape Town – A community near Wellington is in shock after a three-year-old boy was found dead in an old car meters from their home.
Diego Booysen and a four-year-old girl were found inside the vehicle on a property in Newtown Tuesday morning after they disappeared Monday.
The girl was still alive and was taken to the hospital for observation.
The gray car the children were found in is behind yellow police tape in a courtyard.

Booysen lives a few houses later.
While Eyewitness news While at the scene, the boy’s father returned from Mbekweni Police Station, where he met with investigators.
David Solomons was still shocked and incredulous.
He said that on Monday they looked for his son and the girl in the car, but did not see them.
Solomons said someone was detained, but police did not confirm this information.
The cause of death has yet to be determined.
