The city disagreed with its understanding of the regulations, saying the movie shoots were not equated with beach parties or other events and were carried out in accordance with regulations that companies allow.
They went to court to pursue the matter and reached an out-of-court settlement on Friday afternoon prohibiting SAPS from interfering with the footage if the city has issued a permit.

At the same time, Cele warned the Western Cape that it is not above the law when it comes to new regulations.
Cele said that anyone has the right to go to court, but there are regulations to save lives.
“The only thing I can say about the Western Cape is that people are human beings too, they should be treated and protected that way. They have no right to be above the law. They have told me that they are going to court, so that’s what they should do but these regulations are very clear. “
