Cape Town man Donovan Tooth found himself trending on Twitter charts over the weekend for all the wrong reasons.

Taking his Instagram Stories, the fitness fanatic and “motivational speaker” held back nothing as he proceeded to engage his followers in an expletive-filled monologue that embarrassed women and spoke of them in a derogatory manner.

“In anyone’s fucking thinking, that woman has no curves … She has fucking 10 kilos to lose. Like a bitch, get on a treadmill and lose the fat, ”she says while looking at the camera.

One of the women he referred to in the video is Nelly London, a lingerie model who is also a body acceptance activist. In the wake of the video going viral, she also responded to the post with a slightly veiled punch to Tooth.

Soon Twitter got wind of Tooth’s spiel and things started to snowball.

Women across the country expressed their disdain for the misogyny and shame that is promoted in Tooth’s self-indulgent monologue.

“Men like #toothsta don’t have the tools / tool to handle ‘fat overweight’ women so they become disgusting … Little man syndrome is clearly shown through their videos,” commented one user.

“Shaming women’s bodies doesn’t make you a man. From the looks of it, bruh, not even supplements can,” said another.

Online detectives investigated and discovered that Tooth is an employee of Panda Clothing, a local sportswear brand.

Since then, the brand distanced itself from him and issued a public apology on social media.

Although it is not known in what capacity the company employs him, Panda said: “PANDA Clothing and its shareholders dissociate themselves from the derogatory charge that was an attack on the female form. It is unacceptable, shameful and has no place in Panda’s value system ”.

After protesting his post, Tooth also apologized, but has since deleted all of his social media accounts.
