The EFF in KwaZulu-Natal has claimed to have closed many Clicks stores in Durban and surrounding areas as part of its national protest against the retail pharmaceutical giant.

Clicks has since apologized for the ad and suspended two employees.
KwaZulu-Natal EFF leader Vusi Khoza told News24 that most of the Clicks stores in Durban shopping malls and surrounding areas had been closed.
When News24 arrived at Clicks on Pixley KaSeme Street in Durban CBD, EFF supporters were blocking the store’s entrance. Some customers were seen leaving.
“It has been very effective and very successful and we will keep it until Friday, and we will make sure there is no business for Clicks as punishment,” Khoza said.
Furthermore, he criticized the ad, saying:
The ad is tacky, provocative, insulting, degrading, and downright racist. We are going to keep this until Clicks succumbs.

Khoza said there were still traces of racism in most South African companies.
“We note that the issue of race relations in SA is not really handled properly. There are some racists who, without provocation, want to sow discord.”
He said racism also existed in companies across the country.
“Blacks are the ones who get the extreme of blatant racism. We are not going to be silent. We are going to fight for no racist to feel comfortable anywhere in South Africa.”
EFF reaction
Khoza also lashed out at the party’s detractors, particularly opposition parties that had condemned the EFF protest, saying they were racist.
“Other political parties envy EFF and must be kicking themselves, wondering why they never did this first. We know that most of them are security guards for white monopoly capital.”

He said they would not allow the capitalists “to do what they want here.”
“We have done nothing wrong. We are upholding the dignity of blacks. Other parties are comfortable with racism, the EFF is not, and we are going to make sure that racists are not comfortable.”
Some protests on Monday occurred without incident, while others turned violent. Clicks on Monday said 425 stores had been affected by the protests. At least seven suffered violence and damage.
