The Cheetahs recently lost several players; pillar Luan de Bruin said that uncertainty regarding his future was the reason he joined the Leicester Tigers in England. He will be joining former Cheetahs teammate Jasper Wiese there this week.
The Cheetahs lost Wiese, blocked Walt Steenkamp (Bulls) and center Benhard Janse van Rensburg (NEC Green Rockets, Japan) in late October, while the JP du Preez bloc also recently joined Sale Sharks in England.
