JOHANNESBURG – Police Minister Bheki Cele says he is displeased with EFF leader Julius Malema.
The agitator leader called on his followers to attack the police during a speech this weekend.
Malema spoke out against the police during a community meeting in the Free State.

“If the South African police want a fight, they should declare it, we will treat them the same way we treated them in the 1980s,” Malema said.
“We will not only fight them in the picket lines, we will go to their homes and we will fight them in their own homes, with their own families.”
Cele labels the statements as reckless.

“I think the EFF leader has crossed the line in this case. He has really crossed the line,” Cele said.
“You are not going to threaten the police and think that the police are going to sit back and sit down.”
The minister said that no one has the right to threaten the police, especially when it comes to their work.
