Durban – A Johannesburg man, who tackled a suspected kidnapper trying to seize a 4-year-old girl at a restaurant in Florida, has been hailed as a hero for his valiant efforts.
The man, identified as businessman Dishal Sooku, grabbed him and threw him to the ground. Video footage of the incident has gone viral on social media.
In the video clip, it shows a girl sitting at the table with two women. A few seconds later, a man jumps over a railing in the restaurant and grabs the girl by the neck. It seems that Sooku may have been watching the man and suspecting her intention because she managed to grab the man seconds after she jumped over the railing and grabbed the boy.

Sooku is seen grabbing the suspect and knocking him to the ground as one of the women grabs the alleged kidnapper’s child.
The women quickly push the girl away as Sooku continues to deal with the suspect. Security guards intervene to separate Sooku from the suspect.
In a second video of the scene, the suspect is seen with his arms tied, talking to people at the scene.
What he says is not well understood, however, he makes references to drugs.
Since then, the 24-year-old has been arrested and charged with assault. It is unclear if or when the man will be charged with attempted kidnapping.
Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Kay Makhubele said further investigations will reveal whether the incident is related to a kidnapping.
According to his Facebook profile, Sooku is the director of a dry cleaning company and lives in Gauteng.
According to the Jikishin Ju-Jitsu International South Africa, he is a sensei.
