The self-proclaimed prophet, Shepherd Bushiri, has said that he is neither shocked nor surprised by the media reports of the arrest warrants issued against him following the rape allegations.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Ephraim Nyondo, Bushiri said the arrest warrants were “part of the larger crusade to try to pursue my name in the media by a team of the same white cops, especially the Hawks.” .
“For the record, it is trivial that when an arrest warrant is issued, law enforcement agencies proceed to make the arrest; not leaking information to the media as has always been my case with these white cops.
“These are white policemen that I opened extortion and corruption cases against in 2018 after they tried, unsuccessfully, to extort approximately R10 million from me. At the time, they were clear and stated that “failure to pay the 10 million rand would result in immediate retaliation.”
“Despite confirming the opening of these cases, the South African authorities have not taken relevant measures to bring these white policemen to reserve.
“Instead, these officers were released, supported by state resources, and embarked on a crusade to cover up their crimes by launching and issuing numerous arrest warrants against me,” says Bushiri’s statement.
The self-proclaimed prophet claims that the “white policemen” behind the supposed “crusade” to persecute his name are the ones “who arrested me in February 2019” and arrested him in October.
However, he added that “without any official confirmation I bet they are the same policemen.”
“I have been informed, advice that I accept, that rape cases are not handled by Hawks but by the designated unit of the South African Police (SAPS) known as Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses (FCS).
“I had filed complaints about how the Hawks were recruiting girls to fabricate rape charges and to date they have not given me any clemency. Some of these were confirmed through various videos of those who returned to confess such wrongful conduct.
“During my public address on Saturday, November 21, 2020, I said pertinently and persistently that as long as these officers are not challenged, there is no way I can receive a fair trial in South Africa because those white officers are surely and evidently motivated by revenge. , not justice.
“That is why these new arrest warrants are neither a shock nor a surprise because they only confirm every detail that I shared regarding the streaks of injustice that I left in South Africa.
“But above all, as a revered man of God, a husband and father who understands that rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything I stand for and believe in.
As Keen as I am to clear my name, I unequivocally refuse to feed the media show created by bent white cops to cover up their crimes. My conscience is very clear and will remain so. “
