Brackenfell Superior Court offer to stop more EFF protests postponed until next month

CAPE TOWN – Brackenfell High School’s court offer to stop Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) from leading more protests at its facilities has been postponed to next month.

Last week, Western Cape Superior Court Judge Siraj Desai dismissed the school’s urgent request to prevent party supporters from demonstrating.

A week ago violent clashes broke out between a group of people and party supporters outside the school.

The school had been accused of racial discrimination.

Earlier this month, a group of supporters spoke out about a private tuition function that allegedly only invited white students and their families.

EFF members returned to protest outside the school last Monday, which escalated into violent clashes.

In court documents, the school argues that it wants to create an environment free from noise and violence, where exams can be written and students can get to and from school safely.

The matter was postponed until December 2.
