Internationals from Mali and South Africa helped the Seagulls say goodbye to the League One team and reserve a spot for the next round of the competition.
Yves Bissouma scored the first goal for Brighton & Hove Albion while Percy Tau was in action as they secured a 2-1 victory over Blackpool in Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round match.
Tau, recently retired from his assignment at Anderlecht, made his debut at Amex Stadium (in the FA Cup) and his second start for Graham Potter’s side after last Saturday’s Premier League game against Leeds United.
Bissouma broke the deadlock in the 27th minute from 32 yards. The effort was the Mali international’s fourth goal for the Gaviotas since their arrival from French Ligue 1 club Lille in July 2018 and all of their goals have come from outside the penalty area.

Gary Madine canceled the 24-year-old’s opener with his draw at the end of the break, but Steven Alzate sealed Brighton’s advance to the fifth round with his winning goal in the 58th minute.
Tau was in action for 61 minutes but struggled to register a shot and a key pass before being replaced by Neal Maupay. Bissouma, however, played from start to finish.
The South African star has made four appearances for Brighton so far, and his goal is to open his Premier League goal tally when the Seagulls host Fulham at Amex Stadium for a league game on Wednesday.
Brighton & Hove Albion rank 17th in the Premier League table with 17 points from 19 games, five points behind the relegation zone.
