“We do not doubt that a fair and impartial court of justice will find in favor of our client and will grant our client the relief they seek so that, in the end, justice can be done and seen to be done”, a statement issued on Friday read.
Meanwhile, the Masuku high court’s request to review and annul the SIU report that was used to dismiss him will be heard by a full court of judges in January next year, his lawyers said.
“The full court of judges will hear our client’s matter on January 21, 2021, after the parties exchange more legal documents on the matter during strict deadlines from November 20, 2020 and before December 7, 2020 until allow judges to consider the matter, ”the statement read.
His legal team said Masuku welcomed the decision to assign a full bank as it shows the importance of the case.
Masuku’s legal team said the case attacks the core of fundamental principles of good governance in South Africa, which include the separation of powers and the different roles between executive authorities and accounting officers in government.
