Bale decision, Ndombele returns – Tottenham José Mourinho should choose Crystal Palace

[ad_1]

Games keep coming strong and fast for José Mourinho and his Tottenham team as they return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon.

Fresh from sealing the top spot in Europa League Group J on Thursday with a 2-0 win over Royal Antwerp, Spurs will look to clinch six wins from their last seven league games when they make the journey through London to take on the Crystal Palace.

The games between the sides have been quite close in recent years and Sunday’s meeting will certainly be no different.

Making a total of nine changes in Europe on Thursday, Mourinho is expected to re-shuffle his pack against Roy Hodgson’s men to keep everyone in shape.

But who should start with the Lilywhites in South East London?

We asked our Tottenham writers on football, london to give his opinion on who should be in the XI of Mourinho to face the Eagles. Here is what they had to say:

Alasdair Gold – Tottenham Hotspur correspondent

Tottenham will need that little bit of magic to find a way beyond an organized Crystal Palace team.

Games at Selhurst Park are normally tight affairs and Roy Hodgson’s men will not be looking to dominate possession and provide the Spurs with fast break opportunities.

Mourinho’s men will have to break through in a different way and he will have many attacking options to choose from.

Giovani Lo Celso made his case with an excellent midweek performance, but Mourinho could decide that three starts in a week is now too much for the Argentine and has Tanguy Ndombele ready to start again.

Tanguy Ndombele is pushing to start at Crystal Palace after returning to action against Royal Antwerp on Thursday.

The Spurs manager hopes Serge Aurier is back in shape and his decision to remove Gareth Bale a little earlier than in recent Europa League games suggests that the Welshman could be in line to start, particularly with Steven Bergwijn playing the second half complete. .

Mourinho used Bale against West Brom in a similar match when the opposition needed to be brought down and he could make a similar decision.

Gold Team: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon; Sissoko, Hojbjerg; Count, Ndombele, Son; Kane.

Rob Guest – Tottenham Hotspur reporter

Tottenham’s team choose themselves today because of their brilliant form in the Premier League.

Serge Aurier should be back after missing Thursday night and that means he takes his place on defense alongside Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Sergio Reguilon.

Giovani Lo Celso deserves to remain in the team for the fourth game in a row, but it may be wise to manage his minutes and give him a break, as he has played a lot recently.

As Tanguy Ndombele was introduced from the bench against Antwerp, he should be the one to enter midfield with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Moussa Sissoko also there.

Steven Bergwijn also did well last Sunday against Arsenal and should have another shot in attack with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Guest team: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Sissoko, Ndombele; Bergwijn, son, Kane.
