Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will sign a new contract with Arsenal, and Fabrizio Romano has reported that he turned down two offers to stay with the Gunners.
The Gabon forward has been arguably Arsenal’s most important player for much of his time at the club and has entered the final year of his last contract.
The club has been desperate to land him on a new contract for some time now, and fans are hopeful that he will stay.
Top European teams like Barcelona and Inter Milan have been monitoring his situation with a view to doing something for him.
However, Arsenal remained in negotiations with him and always hoped to get him to sign a new contract.
Romano has already confirmed who agreed to stay with the Gunners for the next several years, before adding that the forward had offers from Spain and Italy but turned them down to commit to Arsenal.
His contract extension will provide a much-needed boost to Arsenal’s dressing room and the club can now look to build to win the FA Cup and Community Shield last month.
Now they can also focus on strengthening other areas of their team before the transfer window closes.
