“Unfortunately, when those leaks happened, there is not even a courtesy to confirm them, but even when you want to confirm with us, how would you expect the minister to confirm the leaks, but people keep writing?
“I want to tell your clan (the media) that you compromise the investigations in the future. Let me stop there and say that we will investigate, including the people you say are of ourselves (SAPS). Because those, I think, are worse than people they get the information, “Cele said.
He said:
But we really want to take this matter very seriously because it has a great impact on the resolution and resolution of cases, when the court is created in the media and people are allowed to speculate and talk about things that do not exist.
The minister said: “This is the beginning of this, we believe that there is still a lot to come. It is a great story.”
Speaking at the briefing, Sitole said police had to use different tactics to blame the suspected suspects for the murder.
“In the last moments of the investigation, we had to use different investigative tactics and among them was the application of cold case principles.
“When you apply the cold case principles, you conduct a cold case analysis against all individual suspects. Apart from criminal activities related to the murder of Senzo Meyiwa, through the cold case analysis you also uncover other cases and then begin to tie the suspect with all the prominent cases from the cold case analysis, “Sitole said.

The national police commissioner said there is now new and different evidence compared to previous instances, adding that ballistic evidence was important.
Complexities
He said the case had complexities that required authorities to apply many investigative tactics.
“At the present time, what is key is the ballistic tests related to the firearm and, so far, it is only now that we find the weapon. We have been searching for the weapon throughout the investigation.
“But with final tactics applied, we found the weapon and fortunately the weapon is ballistically connected to the crime scene,” he said.
Sitole said authorities want to avoid conducting the investigation in the public domain and will not release any confessions at this time. He said it would be part of the court proceedings.
He said that during the judicial process more details will also be revealed on whether the murder was a coup or not.
