When pipe carver Max, who goes by Radonlab on Instagram and Reddit, carved a pipe in the shape of the Terminator, he just wanted people to see his work.
He never expected the Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to see it.
Max posted an interesting photo of the pipeline on the r / Damnthats subreddit about a month ago, saying he made it especially for Schwarzenegger’s birthday.
Schwarzenegger stumbled upon the post and commented, “Wow. This is fantastic. This is beautiful. Would you sell me this?”
Max responded by saying that it would be an honor to give it to him.
“If you insist on giving it to me, I insist on sending you a signed photo of me wearing it,” the former California governor replied. “Now that we are in 2020, I just sign things on my machine and send an email if that works for you. You can message me and I’ll give you the details.”
This week, Schwarzenegger uploaded a photo to Imgur showing that he had received the pipe safely.
“I love it,” he commented on the Reddit post, adding a link to the photo. “You are so talented and I can’t thank you enough!”
Max later posted an update on his Instagram page.
“This is probably the best day of my life,” he wrote. “I am very happy and it is not even about the large amount of money or the many orders. He is a legend and I was able to touch him, it is a great honor for me.”
He said it was a normal guy making a pipe for Schwarzenegger and accepted the gift, which was an “interesting” and “fantastic” story.
“I am grateful to God for having lived to this day, and thanks to everyone who helped me in this, I am very grateful,” he said.
