Mikel Arteta is preparing to face Southampton as Arsenal games are taking place every three days at the moment.
The Boss is desperate for a win by any means, and after the colossal failure against Burnley, tonight’s game has become an even more must-have game for the Spaniard.
Arteta was asked in the pregame press conference how he was dealing with the pressure right now. He responded on Arsenal.com: “I feel the pressure all the time. When we have those spells, not everything has been beautiful. The last months of last summer there were many difficult moments, believe me. Not everything was nice, easy and pleasant.
“Obviously, when you are winning, you create a different frame of mind. So the pressure once you win is to win again, the pressure will always exist, I prefer that. That pressure when you are always thinking about winning and going to the next trophy, but this is our reality right now and we have to face it. We have to face it by being brave, fighting and without anyone giving up.
“It is not time to hide, it is time to put your face and your body on the line and for now, I’m sorry, but we have to take the bullets. We are not winning football matches and you have to put your chest out [and say], ‘Hit me’ because you have the right to hit me, because I’m not winning.
“What else can I do? Lower my head, work harder and try to do better and improve. In my opinion, this is how we have to approach this.”
Poor Mikel needs to duck his head and try to avoid the bullets, which are coming towards him in rapid fire mode right now.
