Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has commented on Eddie Nketiah on the club’s official website.
Arteta has said that the 21-year-old forward is fighting hard for his place in the starting eleven and is very engaged in training.
The Spaniard has revealed what the England Under-21 international tells him in training that underscores his ambition and hunger.
Arteta told Arsenal’s official website about Nketiah: “He’s another who fights and knocks on the door every day. I really like your mentality. He’s cultured, he walks into training ground and says ‘I should have scored four,’ so that’s the kind of ambition and hunger you want from players. “
Stay patient
Nketiah is a very talented and promising young striker with a bright future ahead of him.
The Englishman is not guaranteed a place in Arsenal’s starting lineup due to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, but he takes a risk and has impressed when called to action.
The former Leeds United loan officer needs to be patient and work hard in training, and perhaps in the coming weeks and months he will become a regular in the starting lineup.
According to WhoScored, Nketiah has scored a goal in 145 minutes in the Premier League and has scored a goal in three Europa League games for Arsenal so far this season.
Arsenal will face Leeds in the Premier League this weekend.
