Gabriel Magalhaes has become the latest individual to praise his new teammate, William Saliba.
Saliba was signed by the Gunners last summer, but like Gabriel, this will be his first season with the Gunners, as he spent the last season on loan at his previous club St Etienne.
Both players are expected to become key members of Arsenal’s first team starting this campaign and could even become long-term partners in the back of the Gunners.
Gabriel is the latest player to sign for the Gunners after beating competitors like Manchester United and Napoli to sign him.
He was talking about Saliba after his transfer was completed and admitted that he did not exactly follow the Frenchman’s career, but knows he will be a great player for Arsenal.
He also added that he hopes to get along with his fellow defender as they look to make Arsenal a superior team again.
He said via Metro: ‘I didn’t follow him a lot but I know he’s a talented young player and if he joins the arsenal it’s because of his quality. We have some mutual friends and I played against him before.
“He is a great player and I am sure we will get along very well. It is a dream that I am living the dream now of playing for this club with such great history and achievements.
‘Everything is to be achieved and I am very happy to be here. Not much has taken in yet, but I’m happy to be here and can’t wait to play with my new teammates. ‘
