Sky Sports claims that Arsenal have added Jorginho to their list of transfer targets this summer as they prepare to lose Lucas Torreira.
The Gunners have had a busy transfer window, but more players are expected to join the club.
They want a midfielder before the transfer window closes, both Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar have become targets for them.
But the report claims that they have added Jorginho to the list as they prepare to sell Torreira to Atlético de Madrid.
Mikel Arteta was part of Manchester City’s coaching staff when Chelsea beat the Citizens at the signing of Jorginho in 2018 and remains interested in the services of the Brazil-born Italian international.
Jorginho struggled to play for the Blues last season, but has already captained them in two games this season.
It’s unclear whether the Blues, who have added multiple players to their squad this season, will be willing to sell it.
Arsenal can also ask Thomas Partey in exchange for Torriera but it seems that Atlético will only sign the Uruguayan on loan for the season and in a separate contract.
The money from Torriera’s sale will be used to sign another midfielder and Arsenal could compare him, with the Italian team, Torino still interested in signing him.
