Johannesburg – The family of the late actor Menzi Ngubane has suffered another tragic blow with the death of his father.
The death of the actor’s father comes as the family was busy preparing for Menzi’s funeral scheduled for Thursday.
A source close to the family said Menzi’s father passed away at his home in Mnambithi, where Menzi is scheduled to be buried this Saturday.
Sources close to the family told Sunday World that Menzi’s father died suddenly and they suspect it was due to a broken heart because the two were close.
“He was devastated by the death of his son … we suspect it is heart failure,” added the source.
A famous actor and actress close to the family is believed to have suggested a same-day funeral for the father and son.

“They were planning Menzi’s funeral for next Thursday, but he couldn’t bear the pain of losing his son,” the source told Sunday World.
“Menzi’s death really hurt him. He was the hope of the family. The news of his death came at a time when his health was already compromised, ”said the source.
Last year, Menzi threw a birthday party for his father on his 90th birthday.
Menzi Ngubane rose to fame when he appeared in Generations, playing the character of the ruthless businessman Ngamla.
He also appeared in Isibaya, where he played Judas Ngwenya, the owner of a taxi.
