It was on this basis that Magistrate Phillip Venter denied Agrizzi’s bail in the Specialized Commercial Crimes Sitting court in Palm Ridge on Wednesday.

Agrizzi, according to the state, deliberately withheld all this information as he had plans to flee the country. It only disclosed its local assets, including a R13.5m house and movable assets of R2.65m, which the state alleges They were not in his name or his wife and were actually owned by his family trust, another fact that he did not reveal.

Agrizzi’s attorney, Daniel Witz, told SowetanLIVE’s sister publication TimesLIVE on Thursday that Agrizzi had filed an application to appeal the bail decision to the Johannesburg High Court.
