Johannesburg – The ANC Greater Johannesburg Region has warned Gauteng RET president’s Zuma Support Group that it will take action against any of its members who attend a meeting called for Sunday.

According to a poster that went viral on social media platforms, a mass gathering will take place in Johannesburg on Sunday.

The party has threatened disciplinary action for any member who attends the meeting, citing that attending the meeting would contravene the party’s constitution, resolution and policy documents.

ANC Greater Johannesburg Regional Secretary Dada Morero said the party had viewed the poster with disapproval.

“The ANC does not approve or know of the meeting of the counterrevolutionary faction and grouping whose sole purpose is to undermine the ANC’s efforts for unity and renewal,” Morero said.

He called on ANC members to disassociate themselves from the so-called RET forces and other groupings of factions.

“We call on all members of the ANC not to attend this meeting and to help us identify the convenors of this meeting and those who will attend.

“The assistance will be carried out with the necessary steps to institute an investigation and disciplinary actions will be taken against all the people involved, who seek to divide the organization and violate its rules,” Morero said.

He sent a message to the organizers that such behavior would not be tolerated and lacked political maturity, especially after the ANC’s highest decision-making body, the national executive committee, held its meeting last weekend and called for the Unit.
