JOHANNESBURG – The Gauteng caucus of the African National Congress (ANC) said it is behind Democratic Alliance (DA) member of the provincial legislature Nkele Molapo who has brought charges of sexual harassment against Solly Msimanga of the opposition.

In a statement, the ANC praised Molapo’s bravery in defending herself and all the women in the province.

The ANC said it was shameful that the district attorney discredited and vilified the applicant by further subjecting her to humiliation by defamation of her integrity.

Msimanga has questioned the timing of the Molapo allegations that come six years after the alleged abuse.

He said Molapo never mentioned having been harassed while working with him and that he has filed a criminal injury case against her.
