Amazon has Announced its Luna cloud game streaming service, which allows users to play high-quality video games on various devices via the cloud.

These games will work with AWS game servers and allow users to play video games with low latency.

Users will be able to choose between using a keyboard and mouse, a Bluetooth game controller, or the new Luna Controller, which Amazon says offers latency reductions of between 17 and 30 ms.

“We built Luna to make it easy to play great games on the devices customers already own and love,” said Marc Whitten, Amazon vice president of entertainment devices and services.

“It’s Day One for Luna – we’re excited to be working with players, streamers, and publishers like Ubisoft and Remedy Entertainment to create a great gaming experience for everyone.”

Amazon said users will be able to play Luna games on Fire TV, PC and Mac, as well as web apps for iPhone and iPad. She said Android compatibility is coming soon.

Users will be able to subscribe to the Luna + gaming channel, which offers a library of games to choose from, including:

  • Resident Evil 7
  • Control
  • A Plague Tale: Innocence
  • Wave 2
  • GRID
  • Iconoclasts

Amazon will also offer a new gaming channel in partnership with Ubisoft that is available through Luna.

This channel will allow users to access their favorite Ubisoft games, including new titles such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6 and Immortals Fenyx Rising.

“We are proud to partner with Amazon on Luna, using the power of cloud gaming to give our players another way to access our games, wherever they are,” said Chris Early, senior vice president of partnerships and revenue, Ubisoft.

“The Ubisoft channel on Luna will allow players to experience our new releases alongside many of the games in our catalog, while enjoying player-friendly features such as Alexa and Twitch integrations.”

The platform will offer Twitch integration, including the ability to watch Twitch game streams from the service, and from Twitch, they will be able to instantly start playing Luna games.

Early Access to Luna starts today and is only available in the US at this time.
