Agent confirms investigations of former Kaizer Chiefs defender Hadebe from Amiens SC Zungu

The 25-year-old Zimbabwean central defender could join the former Mamelodi Sundowns star in France if a deal is approved.

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Teenage Hadebe is being hunted by French Ligue 2’s Amiens SC, his agent Gibson Mahachi has confirmed.

Hadebe currently plays for Turkish Super Lig team Yeni Malatyaspor, whom he joined after spending two seasons at Chiefs at the start of the 2019/20 season and immediately established himself as a regular starter.

Mahachi said the Zimbabwean international is happy in Turkey, but if a lucrative offer comes up he would make a move.

The agent said his client has not only attracted interest in Turkey, but also in other European leagues.

“The problem with Hadebe is that he is very happy at Yeni Malatyaspor and is not looking to move for now unless he is presented with a bigger and more tempting offer,” Mahachi told NewsDay.

“It is true that there are several inquiries from Europe and that includes Amiens, but there has to be a compelling reason for him to move, there has to be a much better offer if he is going to leave.

“He has a contract with Yeni Malatyaspor, he’s not a free agent, so it’s not like he can move like that. At the moment he is enjoying his stay at Yeni Malatyspor ”.

What could be daunting for Hadebe, however, is the fact that Amiens is practicing his trade in the second division of French football, but an attractive offer could attract him to France.

If the move to Amiens goes through, Hadebe will join former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana midfielder Bafana Bongani Zungu, who plays for the Ligue 2 team.

However, the seemingly frustrated Zungu was recently pushing to walk away from the club and nearly joined Rangers from the Scottish Premiership.

Reports suggest that Zungu was eager to join Steven Gerrard’s Rangers amid a possible return to Ligue 1 to play for La Liga’s Strasbourg or Celta Vigo, as well as Greek Olympiacos.

All of these reports came after a move proposal to RCD Mallorca in January had a deadline issue.
