The Department of Basic Education said that it must protect the integrity of the Higher National Certificate, therefore, matrics will rewrite those two documents.

AfriForum will assist enrollment students with an urgent court request.

They plan to reverse Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga’s decision to have two leaked exams rewritten.

“Legally, we are going to oppose based on the regulation of the department, that if a student has not committed irregularities regarding the examination test and has not received any benefit from the irregularities, then that examination test must be scored and those marks they must be released, “said Natasha Venter of AfriForum.

Venter said AfriForum takes into account the department’s concerns, but said an expert statement would indicate alternative methods to identify possible culprits.

The organization will be in court on Wednesday to defend its case.
