JOHANNESBURG – Police confirmed the death of a 33-year-old man, believed to be AmaZulu’s advocate Anele Ngcongca, on Monday following a car accident in the early hours of the morning.
South African Police Service Brigadier Jay Naicker said of the accident: “It is alleged that this morning at 5 am, a vehicle with two occupants lost control and rolled over on the N2 highway near Mtunzini. A 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for medical attention. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation. A wrongful death case has been opened for investigation by Mtunzini SAPS ”.
Ngcongca was in Durban prior to his introduction as a Usuthu player after reaching an agreement to join the club on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.
During his career, the defender represented the Belgian team KRC Genk and the French Troyes.
He also won 50 international matches with Bafana Bafana.
