Kaizer Chiefs academy star James McFarlane tragically passed away after being involved in a devastating car accident Thursday night.
James McFarlane, 18, was the captain of the Kaizer Chiefs U-17 academy team before making the jump to the reserve side this year. McFarlane was also a regular on the U-17 national team, the Amajimbos.

James McFarlane dies at 18
McFarlane’s death was confirmed by his managing agency, Siyavuma Sports Group, on Friday, November 6. A statement released by the sports management agency regarding the death of the Kaizer Chiefs star read:
“It is with great regret that we inform you that James McFarlane, Kaizer Chiefs U19 and SA U17 national team player has passed away in a tragic accident. We have lost a member of our family. “
