Television personality Katlego Maboe found herself at the center of a social media storm on Friday after allegations of infidelity and abuse were made against her.
Since then, the presenter has been removed from the Express morning show, and the Outsurance ads in which it appears will be taken off the air.
Here is a timeline of the events that unfolded:
SOCIAL MEDIA STORM
On Thursday night, Katlego Maboe made it onto Twitter’s trending list when he was embroiled in an infidelity and abuse scandal.
A video of the presenter, allegedly taken by her partner Monique Muller, was shared online. In the clip, Katlego appears to confess to cheating. He is also accused of transmitting an STD to his partner.
ALLEGATIONS OF ABUSE
Monique’s brother, Seth Muller, allegedly shared information on his Instagram Stories accusing Katlego of physically abusing his sister.
The posts, which have now been removed, claim that Monique has opened a domestic violence case against Katlego. It also alleges that the presenter had cheated on Monique while she was pregnant with their child.

Local publication TshisaLIVE It has also reported that Monique has obtained a protection order against Katlego, saying that the information was revealed to them through a reliable source “closely linked to the situation.”
THE FOLLOWING
In a statement shared with Channel24The publicist for Katlego denied the allegations made against the star, saying they were “false and are an attempt by his ex-partner to harass and victimize him in order to cause emotional damage, as well as reputational and financial damage.”
While confirming that he had been unfaithful, Katlego also denied the abuse allegations in a post shared on Instagram: “In light of the comments made against me, I would like to affirm that I have never abused my partner,” he wrote.
As a result of the accusations, both Cardova Producciones, which produces the Express morning show, as well as Outsurance, whose listings include Katlego, published statements regarding the actions they will take.
The presenter has been removed from the Express morning show pending further investigation, and an Outsurance spokesperson said Channel24 that any of its commercials starring Katlego would be taken off the air “as soon as possible.”
STORY OF INFIDELITY
In 2016, Katlego was embroiled in another cheating scandal with a local television personality.
According to All4WomenIn an interview with Gareth Cliff, Katlego revealed that he had kissed the woman but said it didn’t evolve into anything beyond that. I was in a relationship with someone else at the time.
