Entertainment forever Panzer Dragon: Remake made a surprise landing on Switch last month, immediately after the Nintendo Direct Mini unveiled. While it was not released in the best condition, it has still been a pleasant flight and has since received a patch that adds the remixed soundtrack by Saori Kobayashi.
If you weren’t so impressed with the final product at launch, the good news is that a sizable upgrade is on the way. In a recent interview with Panzer Dragoon World, the new version’s co-producer Benjamin Anseaume described what to expect from patch 1.3.
It promises to include an option to enable 60 frames per second, add HD Rumble, Gyro controls, and more. Nintendo is currently validating it, but exactly when it will be released is unknown. Here are the full details for this upcoming update, courtesy of Nintendo Everything:
– Rumble HD
– 60FPS is added
– Reduced entry delay / improved rotation
– Gyroscope controls
– Sound effects are reworked
– Various facial buttons to shoot / lock
– Automatic locking system as an option
– Episode 0 added
– New game mode (performance?)
– New game options
– New cheat codes
– Options accessible from the pause menu
– Dragon animation reworked
– Game language based on console language on first launch
– The secret menu called Pandora Box in Remake can now be accessed once the game is overcome, regardless of difficulty
In our review, we gave the remake six out of ten stars and said it was a “decent shot” of an all-time classic, that’s going Some way to modernize it, but failed to land. Hopefully this update can improve the state of the game.
