Reports emerged today that the anime RPG Digimon Survive had been delayed indefinitely, but Bandai Namco has issued a statement to the contrary.
The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu changed Digimon Survive’s release date from “2020” in previous issues to “TBA”, causing posts to mistakenly report that the game had been delayed. Speaking to Gematsu, the publisher reaffirmed the Digimon 2020 launch window and said the reports of a delay came from “a typo on the Famitsu side.”
We’ve all become quite used to games being delayed in the past few weeks. The Last of Us 2 was the last to tragically recede, and Digimon Survive has already been delayed once from 2019 to 2020. While it would be nothing unexpected to be delayed once again, it seems Digimon Survive is now trekking to launch this year more late on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch.
Digimon’s new RPG marks the 20th anniversary of the series, as well as a departure from previous Digimon games. This time, the gameplay is turn-based and your choices affect the narrative.
