JOHANNESBURG – Community members set fire to a police van in a shebeen in Muldersdrift, west of Johannesburg.

This after the agents tried to confiscate alcohol from the establishment, which was operating illegally.

It is understood that the police responded to a complaint about a shebeen that was still open during the early hours of Saturday, in violation of the curfew.

Upon arrival, two officers became the victims of a violent mob after clients allegedly attacked them and set the state vehicle on fire.

The public order police arrived and arrested the owner of the liquor establishment without a license.
