A manhunt has started for those responsible for the execution-style murder of a 58-year-old man, who got out of his vehicle after suffering a puncture on the R556 road between Mmakau and Brits in the northwest.
According to the police, the victim, Seal Kgasi, was driving from Rosslyn towards the British in a white Toyota Quantum minibus, with two passengers, on Friday night when he suffered a puncture.
“The vehicle suffered a puncture after it passed over spikes extending into the road near the Solar Panels camp. Kgasi allegedly stopped the vehicle to repair the puncture, but was ambushed and shot by two suspects who were armed with firearms. “Police spokesman Capt. Sam Tselanyane said in a statement.
“As a result, Kgasi was fatally injured and his personal pistol and other belongings were stolen by the suspects.
“In addition, the suspects also stole an undisclosed amount of cash and their cell phones from the two passengers. The suspects, who are still at large, were reportedly communicating in Shona.”
Northwest Police Commissioner Lt. Gen. Seal Kwena mobilized the 72-hour activation plan, which includes the deployment of various units to track and arrest the suspects.
