Queen Elizabeth and her family said Tuesday they were saddened to learn of the experiences of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, and said they would address the race-related issues raised by the couple in a interview with Oprah Winfrey.
“The entire family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the past few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
“The issues raised, particularly race, are troubling. While some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be discussed in private by the family.
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be very dear family members.”
