Teen Arrested in Relation to Death of Itumeleng Khune’s Sister

The 27-year-old was reportedly burned beyond recognition in a house fire in Ventersdorp in the early hours of Thursday morning.

JOHANNESBURG – Northwest police arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the death of Mapula, the sister of the Bafana goalkeeper Bafana Itumeleng Khune.

The 27-year-old was reportedly burned beyond recognition in a house fire in Ventersdorp in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Neighbors are understood to have called emergency services after seeing smoke rising from a house on extension 2.

After forcing entry to a back room, authorities discovered Khune’s severely burned body on top of his bed.

Police Adele Myburgh said authorities handcuffed the teen on Friday.
